BYMA, Bolsas y Mercados Argentinos, the new Argentine Stock Market reinforces ESG (Environmental, social and corporate governance) best practices and considers them to be a central key to strengthen management and organization aspects.
For this reason, BYMA together with Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and with the support of Grupo Clarín (Clarín Group), are developing a Sustainability Index to identify leading companies in ESG. “This incentive to sustainable development lets BYMA align with the best practices of International Stock Markets and to promote companies exposure, so they have access to new ways of funding”, said Ernersto Allaria, BYMA President.
On 30 November 2017, BYMA invited the companies that constitute the Merval Index to participate in the initiative launching.
Sustainability implies socially responsible investing and facing climate change. These investments should be used to achieve a positive impact on environmental practices, consequently creating a favorable scenario for sustainable management in companies, and for widening and enhancing corporate development scope and speed.
BYMA – Bolsas y Mercados Argentinos – the new Argentine Stock Market which has been launched only some months ago, is developing an Index to highlight companies that make an effort to improve their ESG practices and which also consequently enhance their financial results.
