2023 Report on sustainable finance in Argentina

The world is increasingly aware of the consequences of climate change, which makes it a priority for organizations to improve their habits in favor of the environment and greater social responsibility. The development of renewable energies and greater energy efficiency are some of the steps being taken by companies and governments around the world, in the region and in Argentina.

To carry out this type of projects, in the local market participants are increasingly choosing sustainable financing. This is evidenced by theissues registered in the BYMA 2023 Social, Green and Sustainable Bonds Panel, which surpassed the record reached in 2022.At the close of December 2023, the Panel was comprised of a total of 63 marketable securities, a 66% increase over the total accumulated to 2022.The total amount of debt labeled on the Panel since its launch in 2019 to date already exceeds USD 1.5 billion, that is 36% over last year's year-end total.

These numbers reflect the positive impact for the environment and Argentine society.

‍Highlights:

• 25 SVS marketable securities were issued in 2023. This is a 47% growth over 2022 issuances.
• Of the total 2023 issuances, 68% are Green Bonds, 20% Sustainable Bonds and 12% Social Bonds. Green Bonds had the highest growth: +55% compared to 2022.
• Several issuers made several issues. Among them, Genneia issued 5 negotiable bonds in 2023, after having issued 6 in 2022.
• New players. Of the 15 issuers, 9 issued for the first time in 2023 an SVS bond. Among them, 4 are from the government sector.
