At Global Investor Week 2020, BYMA reaffirms its commitment to financial education and inclusion

In a new edition of the World Investors Week, BYMA reaffirms its commitment to financial education and inclusion, with a sustainable approach and a federal and regional focus.The Stock Exchange held multiple educational sessions for more than 1,200 university and high school students, and for issuers, investors, studios and the general public. The main speakers gave presentations on prospects for the regional development of the Capital Market, financial derivatives and their role in savings, business financing and instruments for SME financing (echeq, digital promissory note and electronic credit invoice), with the aim of arousing the interest of the new generations in the market and providing them with tools so that they can take their first steps in the stock market scenario, incorporate knowledge and learn about its importance in their personal, family and professional lives.these activities were carried out in conjunction with the CNV and with organizations and universities from different provinces of the country and the region. Among them, the Municipality of Rosario, the Lima Stock Exchange, the Colombia Stock Exchange, the Universidad Nacional de Cuyo, the Universidad Nacional de La Plata, the Universidad Argentina de la Empresa, the Universidad Torcuato Di Tella, the Escuela Argentina de Negocios, the Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola (Peru) and the Colegio Manuel Belgrano."We believe that financial education and inclusion play a key role in the evolution of societies. And young people are the main driver of change. Through the Argentine Institute of Capital Markets, we have been promoting for years a continuous improvement in the new generations' understanding of the stock market scenario. The fact that investors continuously incorporate new practices and knowledge favors the growth of the capital market and consequently the companies that come to finance their projects contributing to job creation." said Alejandro Berney, BYMA's CEO, who played an active role in several of the initiatives organized by the entity.World Investor Week (WIW) was held from October 26 to 30 in more than 70 countries. It is a global campaign promoted by IOSCO-IOSCO, (International Organization of Securities Markets) to raise awareness of the importance of investor education and protection.

A holistic commitment to education

The BYMA Simulation in Capital Markets program has been running since 2000 and has already reached more than 156,000 potential investors across the country. In the last year, 3,262 students from 121 high schools and 1,178 students from 21 universities from different provinces participated. Watch the videos in the Youtube channel of BYMA.
