Ernesto Allaria, president of BYMA, Bolsas y Mercados Argentinos S.A., participated in the The Future of Latin American Markets meeting at the Latin America Investment Summit, organized by Thomson Reuters in New York. The Latin America Investment Summit consists of a series of exclusive interviews with leading figures in Latin America. On this occasion, more than 20 interviews were conducted, including one with President of the Nation, Mauricio Macri.Ernesto Allaria together with his colleagues Roberto Belchior, Director of Market Development at B3 (BOVESPA) and Alfredo Guillen Lara, Chief Operating Officer of the Mexican Stock Exchange, presented their vision of the scenario of the region as a whole before more than 100 leaders of the financial world.In his presentation, Ernesto Allaria highlighted "that it is really encouraging to know that Argentina is being included in the agenda of the world's markets". "BYMA is an ally of local economic development, because we know that there is no economic growth in a country without a solid capital market."Ernesto Allaria, pointed out that in order to grant greater guarantees to investors "we are working on developing the best international practices of Corporate Governanceso that the companies listed in BYMA are more attractive, transparent and have better performance in the market." He also strongly emphasized the need for an integration of Latin American markets, with good Corporate Governance practices being one of the pillars of this process: - "that is the path to integration, working hard with the markets that are next to us and that have experience, such as the Brazilian market with the Novo Mercado".He also mentioned the incorporation of new projects such as Securities Lending, Short Sales and Market Makers.At the end of the presentation, Ernesto Allaria spoke about the evolution and growth of the stock market in the country: "BYMA increased the expectations of international investors. Market integration unifies operations and multiplies traded volumes. BYMA managed to gain a foothold in New York; its equity strength, the technology acquired and the new standards that support it are credentials of international validity."
