BYMA promotes Sustainable Infrastructure Investments

BYMA organized, together with the IDB, IDB INVEST, MERCER and FUNDACIÓN VIDA SILVESTRE, the Roundtable on Sustainable Infrastructure Investments in Argentina.

As part of its commitment to financial sustainability, BYMA organized, together with the IDB, IDB INVEST, MERCER and FUNDACIÓN VIDA SILVESTRE, the ROUND TABLE ON SUSTAINABLE INFRASTRUCTURE INVESTMENTS IN ARGENTINA.

The event brings together the most relevant local stakeholders from the public and private sectors to support the infrastructure agenda and the creation of a portfolio of investment projects in the country. In this sense, the objective of the ROUND TABLE is to identify and evaluate the challenges and opportunities in this area for Argentina.

The event included topics such as infrastructure projects and banking, best practices in PPPs, green financing and the role of creditors, sustainability and financial viability, green bonds and roadmap for Argentina.

BYMA participated as a speaker in the Sustainable Capital Markets Panel and presented the Sustainability Index that is being worked on together with the IDB and with the collaboration of Thomson Reuters; it will be launched in 2018.

The Index - non-commercial - seeks to measure the efforts and actions that issuers are carrying out in Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance matters, with a focus on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

With the development of the Index, it seeks to identify and recognize leading issuers in the field of Sustainability, thus aligning itself more and more with the world's Stock Exchanges.

BYMA will support issuers through the creation of a Sustainability Reporting Guide based on the Sustainable Stock Exchange model, the United Nations Sustainable Stock Exchange initiative.

This will provide greater visibility and access to new types of financing, such as Green Bonds or triple impact bonds.
