BYMA STARTED ITS NET-ZERO JOURNEY: WE OFFSET 100% OF OUR CORPORATE CARBON FOOTPRINT BY 2023

As part of their commitment to sustainability, the companies of the BYMA Group offset their entire carbon footprint in its 3 scopes, as a result of the environmental management and responsibility with positive impact actions that the Stock Exchange has been carrying out for years. The news culminates a journey that had sustainable milestones during 2023. In that year, BYMA was able to measure the carbon footprint in its three scopes with the support of the GenB Economía team, a consulting firm specialized in sustainability strategies to optimize processes. This measurement was based on the International Standard ISO 14001-2015, using the GHG Protocol methodology. Likewise, BYMA reduced its Carbon Dioxide emissions (tCO2e) by 14 % globally, equivalent to 72 Tn. less in the atmosphere, and offset all the emissions that could not be reduced and/or avoided. In this exercise, BYMA chose @Genneia to offset the corporate carbon footprint.

About the NET- ZERO path

"Net Zero" is the balance between the amount of greenhouse gases emitted and the amount removed from the atmosphere. It is achieved by reducing emissions and through methods such as reforestation, carbon capture and use of renewable energy. In addition, the purchase of VCUs (Verified Carbon Unit) also plays a crucial role. VCUs allow companies to offset their emissions by financing projects that reduce or eliminate greenhouse gases. Achieving "Net Zero" is a key objective in combating climate change, which is why BYMA is committed to achieving it, meaning that we will continue to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions and offset the remaining ones by purchasing VCUs. Since its inception, BYMA has maintained a deep commitment to sustainability. For the third consecutive year, BYMA carried out annual evaluations based on quantitative indicators and had GHG protocols to monitor and report on the progress of the process. The Corporate Governance and Sustainability sector, together with other key areas, carried out an internal follow-up to monitor the correct development and implementation of emission reduction measures, implementing a roadmap towards decarbonization. Among the actions developed internally that contributed to this result are: ongoing training, employee commitment to ESG initiatives, efficient use of office space, recycling of materials used in the organization's offices, among others. In this regard, BYMA's Head of Corporate Governance and Sustainability, Julieta Artal, said: "The measurement, reduction and offsetting of our carbon footprint reflects our commitment to environmental management and we expect more and more issuers committed to a sustainable Capital Markets. Achieving balance between the environment, society and the economy is considered essential to meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs. We seek to generate the conditions for sustainability to become a reality in Argentina".
