What is a Mutual Fund?

A Mutual Fund is a financial vehicle that allows a group of people with similar investment objectives to have their investments professionally managed. This professional management analyzes the best way to achieve these objectives and implements the necessary strategies, while safeguarding the invested assets. The assets of these financial instruments may include publicly offered securities such as government and corporate bonds, stocks, and CEDEARs.

  • A mutual fund's assets are funded by investors who share similar goals for profitability and risk.
  • These assets are professionally managed as a portfolio by a team of experts who identifies opportunities and determines the optimal investment strategy.

By participating in a mutual fund, investors delegate the management of their funds to an expert team.

Advantages of investing in Mutual Funds

  • Easy Access: A relatively small minimum investment is sufficient to participate. This allows you to access a variety of financial markets and expand your investment opportunities. As an individual investor, you gain access to the same investment possibilities as large institutional investors.
  • Diversification:  Mutual funds offer a simple way to diversify your portfolio, enhancing its potential value and minimizing the risk of investing in a single financial asset.
  • Liquidity: Mutual funds provide access to your money when needed. Depending on the specific mutual fund, you can access your funds immediately or within a few business hours of the redemption request.
  • Low cost: When you invest in our mutual fund offerings, you will not pay any subscription or redemption commissions. You will pay a management fee, expressed as percentage
  • Transparency: all Mutual Fund activities are regulated and supervised by the Argentinian Securities Commission (CNV).
  • Monitoring: the prices of the Mutual Fund's units are published daily on our digital channels.

Subscribing Mutual Funds

It's like signing up to receive a box of products periodically. Fund managers and fund custodians work together to manage your investment securely and efficiently.

Steps to susbscribe

  1. Initial Contact: contact the Fund Distributor (ACDI) to receive advice on the available funds and choose the right one for your financial objectives.
  2. Choose the Fund: the ACDI helps you select the fund that best suits your needs. This fund is managed by a management company and guarded by a custodian company.
  3. Registration and documentation:  the ACDI guides you in completing the necessary documentation for the subscription, including the opening of an investor account if you do not have one.
  4. Making a deposit: you make the initial deposit with the ACDI. Once the account is funded, the managing company uses this money to buy fund units. Then the custodian is responsible for safeguarding and protecting the fund's assets.
  5. Confirmation: The ACDI provides you with a confirmation of your subscription. The management company and the custodian company also send confirmations of your investment to the ACDI.

How to make a redemption

1
Request the redemption:
Contact the ACDI to initiate the redemption process. They help you complete the application.
2
Processing:
The managing company receives the request and sells the necessary units. The custodian ensures payment for the assets sold.
3
Payment:
On completion of the units sale, the money is transferred to your bank account. The ACDI sends you a confirmation of the redemption.

Considrations to take into account

- Processing time: redemptions may take several hours or business days due to the asset sale process and the transfer of funds.

- Fees: Fees may apply to both subscriptions and redemptions. The ACDI will inform you of these costs. Management companies and custodians may have fees associated with the administration and custody of the funds.

- Market value: The value of your units may fluctuate according to market conditions.
