A year after the launch of its Sustainability Index, BYMA presents the second rebalancing worked jointly with the BID and which has the academic endorsement of the Earth Institute of Columbia University. The index was launched in December 2018 and is in line with international best practices. It has a non-commercial nature based on the IndexAmericas methodology, an index that recognizes leading sustainability companies with a presence in the region, and combines ESG indicators segmented by industry with a perspective of contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).In this regard, Ernesto Allaria, President of BYMA, said: "We seek to position Argentina as a country with a Stock Exchange committed to Environmental, Social and Governance development, encouraging issuers to seek the triple impact. We thank and congratulate the issuers that have joined these initiatives".The survey of sustainability indicators is conducted by Refinitiv (formerly Thomson Reuters), which analyzes issuers according to their ESG performance and provides objective ratings based on publicly available sources. The eligible universe is determined by the most liquid companies, i.e. those that have been part of the Merval Index or the S&P Merval in recent years.
