June 3: Dollar futures, a new contract at BYMA

BYMA will launch on Monday, June 3, the U.S. Dollar Futures Trading, a new investment alternative that can be carried out within a single settlement in the Stock Exchange. This arises in response to the needs of member brokers, who will have access to a lower level of operational risk, greater efficiency and lower financial costs, since everything will be carried out within the same environment.The settlement of dollar futures contracts will be integrated with all BYMA's settlement, meaning that they are incorporated into the settlement of the rest of the operations at the end of the day, which includes bonds, stocks, other futures, options, term by lots, loans and sureties, mutual funds, among others.The novelty represents a further step by BYMA in the consolidation of its futures market that was established together with B3 in 2018, with the S&P Merval Index Futures. In this line, the dollar future will use the PUMA Trading System platform provided by the Brazilian stock exchange that has technology aligned to international standards.Regarding the conditions, trading will be done by contracts. Its size will be 1,000 dollars and the minimum amount to be negotiated is one contract. Maturities will occur on the last business day of each month.BYMA's president, Ernesto Allaria, said: "This launch allows us to deepen our derivatives market and respond to investors' need to access all operations in one place. We are committed to the goal of integration in pursuit of reducing costs and improving efficiency, so as to expand market volume and make it accessible to the largest number of participants, including international players."
