Ringing the Bell for Women's Equality

On March 7, 2018, BYMA, Bolsas y Mercados Argentinos S.A., held the "Ring the Bell for Gender Equality" together with the National Securities Commission and the BCBA.
This initiative is held simultaneously in more than 60 Stock Exchanges around the world, in order to raise awareness and promote the active participation of women in the business and financial sector.
Edesur was highlighted as the company with the best gender composition in its board of directors, Carolina Castro Sherpa del B20 and Susana Balbo W20 spoke about the Role of Women in Business.
Carolina Stanley, Minister of Social Development of the Nation performed the ringing of the BYMA Bell highlighting that "...we are not only giving equal opportunities to women, but we are building a country with less poverty, a country with more growth, a country with sustainable development, an equal country, a country in which I am sure all of us who are here and many who are not here is the country where we want to live ..."
Since 2017 BYMA has been a member of SSE Initiative, an initiative of "United Nations Sustainable Stock Exchanges" that promotes long-term sustainable investment to improve Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance performance.
In the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals that SSE supports, one of the main themes is to "Ensure women's full and effective participation and equal opportunities for leadership at all levels of decision-making, in political, economic and public life".
With this event, BYMA seeks to promote the role and presence of women in business, eliminating the legal, social and economic barriers that limit them.
